During the late 2050’s there was growing concern in Galkot regarding the need of an institution for imparting Higher Education. Though the nation was in the climax of armed conflict, the concept of campus got its concrete form in 2061 B.S. with affiliation of education and management faculties from Tribhuvan University. The intellectual personalities living in Galkot and Kathmandu played vital role in the feasibility study as well as affiliation.
Establishing and running Campus in community level was really challenging. Fee collection from students and donation from local public were two resources for the capital formation. Campus Management Committee decided to organize Dhanyanchal Mahayagna’ from 14th Falgun 2061 to 22 Falgun, Bhagwat recitation of Pandit Narayan Prasad Pokhrel was impressive. Nearly 20 million rupees together with land donation was made from these donations. Campus building was constructed in the land donated by the local people with the budget collected from the Programme.
Gradually the Campus has been extending its programme English, Nepali, Economics, Population are the major subjects in the faculty of education , Account and Finance are the major streams in faculty of management. Nearly 200 students have successfully graduated from this campus so far, and about 400 students have been participating as regular students at present. With the growing urbanization and demand of local people the campus, is in the position to begin Masters Degree in different faculties and newer technical programme in Bachelor level.
For upgrading quality in the running programmes, Campus has started its quality improvement programme for obtaining Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) Certification from University Grants Commission (UGC). Letter of Intent (LOI) has been approved and Self Study Report is under preparation with a lot of attempts and programmes of quality improvement.
